ANDRE: JAKARTA - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has issued an instruction to eradicate law corruptors, especially tax corruptors in all government institutions, like the ministry of finance.
"Now is the right time for a total eradication. I support and appreciate the right measures that had been taken by the finance ministry in eradicating tax corruptors. I also wish that the same measures are taken in other government institutions," he said, before leaving for Hanoi, Vietnam, at Halim Perdanakusuma airport here Wednesday.
The President said after the revelation of the Gayus Tambunan case, he has received 11,294 short messages and 93 letters from the public wishing for a total eradication of the corruptors. The President said that the crime committed in the tax sector is an extraordinary crime, because it not only involved tax officials, but other law enforcement personnel and institutions as well, like the police, prosecution office and the judiciary as well.
"Some lawyers were even also implicated. I hope all of these criminals be investigated, because accumulatively they have caused the state very big losses," he said.
